Massachusetts Theater Celebration

celebration

The Massachusetts Theatre Celebration is a one-day, non-competitive opportunity for students to share work, receive feedback, and forge connections with students in other schools that can lead to collaboration and support for years to come.

Open to all Massachusetts high schools – both public and private. Each school will create a theatrical presentation under 40 minutes in length that may include a one-act play, individual scenes and monologues, songs, or improv sketches.

Each performance will receive a live, on-stage feedback session with METG adjudicators chosen from a pool of working theatre professionals and educators in Massachusetts. Adjudicators will recognize outstanding students, and students will collaborate to create tributes and celebrations of each other’s work. Throughout the day, students will have structured opportunities to meet and make new friends with other students.

This year we are hoping to have two different dates in March for you to choose from. To apply, please go to THIS LINK and fill out the same form as for the annual Drama Festival. Make sure that you mark the box for Massachusetts Theater Celebration.

It’s our hope that in sharing their work, that the students will create friendships that will connect our schools and provide them with a platform for future collaborations.
